Chapter 5 Summary
Podcast- I have been an avid podcast listener ever since covid started. Whether I’m driving or doing homework, it is nice to have in the background. I’m not sure if Spotify counts as a podcatcher, but it is the app that I use to find podcasts. When I think of a podcast, it seems more like a talk show, so I was surprised to learn that it started with radio shows instead. My personal favorite are podcasts that talk about true crime. I’m not sure if that falls under learncast or not though.
Instant messaging- Instant messaging, and more specifically text messaging has been with me for a great part of my 19 years here and I do not remember my life without it. It is very convenient and is my most used form of communication for me personally. It makes it so easy to make plans with friends and family. It is also a great tool to talk to the people you’re working on a project with. While instant messaging can’t beat speaking face to face, it comes close to it.
Social Networks-I have used many social networks that are currently out on the market. Though I had never heard of ones like Friendster I have heard of facebook as that is what my mother uses. I have met and keep in touch with many of my friends through networks like snapchat and Instagram. While my Social networking usage has gone down since I left high school, it has been a big part of my life so far. One of my personal favorite parts of social networking is finding new people to meet through common interest and mutual friendships.
